Morgana Muses on You Can’t Ask That – Porn Stars

I was invited to participate in the “Porn Stars” episode of ABC’s You Can’t Ask That.  I was excited to be able to dispel some of the common myths and misconceptions about working in porn to such a wide audience.

On the day of the shooting I decided to wear my fanciest dress, a black velour number with feathers and a bespoke feathered fascinator. To top it off I wore my signature red lips. I caught a taxi to the ABC studio and was rather nervous for what lay ahead. At the studio, I completed my security pass before meeting with the crew.

The studio was just a chair for me to sit on and a blank white background. I told them that I was nervous and the crew were wonderful at putting me at ease. The next 2 hours it was holding a conversation with the director and answering the selected questions of the audience. I was exhausted and relieved by the end of shooting. The episode has now been edited and is ready to air on Wednesday 29 June. Fingers crossed I did a good job of it. For those wanting to find out more about me and my work, you can watch our films here.

The Sex 69 Project

It was wonderful to be invited as a special guest to the official launch of Sex ’69, “an exciting and innovative online project exploring Australia’s underground adult retail industry, starting in 1969 and evolving until today.” This is important work undertaken by Project Manager, Melynda von Wayward and Support Anthony Nagy. Some fabulous entertainment, a glass of bubbles before Fiona Patten of the Reason Party officially launched this project.

Morgana Documentary Premiere 2019

I keep meaning to write this blog post, but to be quite honest, I feel a bit speechless about it all. I have a bunch of wonderful photos I want to share, so I will let those do the bulk of the talking about how it all went. The capitol was just a beautiful theatre, I think this image shows just how big the room was. Talk about nerve wrecking! I actually think this is me receiving a standing ovation with Josie Hess (Director) and Isabel Peppard (Director) Here we are together with all the panelists for the post film discussion. I was so thrilled to be with Judith Lucy and Fiona Patten (as well as Deb Verhoeven as moderator) alongside Josie and Isabel. And here we are together with the amazing crew, including Producer (Karina Astrup) Jordan Gilmour (Music) John Kassab (Audio Mix) and Louis Nikolovski (VFX)  After our screening, we found out that we were actually getting an encore screening, which was incredibly exciting. After all was said and done I am ready for a bloody good nap.

I was porn again

It’s always so funny to see an interview transformed into an article. Most recently, we had our story covered by The Age’s Karl Quinn. His piece on the documentary, Josie Hess,  Isabel Peppard and I ran under the headline ‘Porn again: Meet Morgana Muses, divorced at 45, adult movie star at 54’ which made me laugh.

We had to pull the whole photoshoot together very quickly. Luckily, the wonderful folks at Passionfruit Sensuality Shop came through with their beautiful store at very short notice.

I had a great time trying out the other wares in the store before settling on the maroon feather, its rather me, don’t you think?

It’s been a hectic week, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

All of me – New film 2019 – Morgana Muses

We’ve just begun shooting our next project, currently titled ‘All of Me’ this will be a short documentary about disability, sex work and identity starring the amazing and beautiful Melinah Viking. Mel is an ably-diverse, award-winning adult film & Cam Performer as well as an Activist and Kink Companion.

I’m working again with  Josie Hess who is back behind the camera. We were both so grateful for Mel’s candour and openness as a subject.

We are really excited to bring Mels unique perspective and story forward as a doco, we hope to be finished late 2019.

Making a new film – Ladies and the Tramp

My first film shoot of 2019 was a beautiful outdoor scene for my new project, Ladies and The Tramp.

I’ve just returned home from a sensational day of shooting,  with Josie leading the camera crew.  I co-performed with the amazing Marina Lee who made very light work for us with her brilliant scene suggestions.

Behind the Scenes

Im so happy with the way the footage turned out.

Best of all, at the end of the shoot, we got to eat something incredibly special (and no it isn’t what you are thinking.. or is it?)
More updates to come on this project.

Permission 4 Pleasure at The Festival Of Really Good Sex

We just wrapped up our session as part of The Festival of Really Good Sex 2018

“Learning how to give yourself permission to experience pleasure is a process many of us struggle with. Morgana Muses has been documenting her own journey from repressed, celibate housewife to award winning ethical pornographer at the tender age of 48 since 2012. This workshop will feature a selection of her erotic films which document her sexual exploration and feature an introduction and Q&A at the end of the screening.”

Josie and I had a fun day with a beautiful group of people, sharing my films and taking these interesting pictures of me while we had access to the projector. We can’t thank the team at the festival enough for putting on such a wonderful festival.
If you get a chance, we encourage you to attend the next one. You can sign up for their news letter here. The school runs events around Australia.

Officially selected for TPFF

More fantastic news for Permisison 4 Pleasure. We have had both our 2018 projects selected for Toronto international porn film festival.

It is always an honour to have our work screen along side so many other amazing, creative and boundary-pushing artists and directors. We can’t wait to see what the festival holds this year. Check out the full screening details as they come out here

Honourable Best Mention at Cinekink

Our newest short documentary film Rituals + Worship  has scored an honorable best mention in the documentary category at Cinekink 2018. This film was made out of a passion for sharing intimate portraits of BDSM practitioners to help represent a wider array of sexualities, so we are absolutely thrilled it was received well. We of course must thank Caritia, our wonderful subject who was gracious enough to let us into her life and her work and who opened up to us and told us her story.
